Automatically Update BOM in CAD?

I'm in the a specialized aluminum and glass industry
and we trying to streamline the process of production drawings.

I would like to know if there is a way that I can have a table for the distentions...by that I mean, if I change the height or width of a particular window or door drawing that it would automatically update in a table?

I think this all depends on the CAD software you are using.

There are many CAD programs that are intuitive to the point that your drawing data can be updated in a Bill of Materials list, or table.

You can use the above link to find a CAD product that best suits your needs.

I would have a look at Autodesk's Inventor product and see if that is a good fit for your company.
