Clearing Up Junk in AutoCAD

by Noel
(Leatherhead, England)

When I zoom extents my drawing frame regenerates to a very small size and is tucked way over to one side of my monitor screen.

This is usually due to some debris or junk left outside the drawing frame.

How do I erase this junk if I cant see it?

I have tried creating a window as large as I can and erasing it but I still have the same problem.

I do remember a command that included erase / all/ outside, but I think I have forgotten something.

Any Ideas

Clean Up Solution
by: Grant

With that problem I use CTRL-A to select everything, I deselect what I want to keep by holding down the shift key and selecting. Then delete. Works fine.

Isolate Your Work
by: John Clout

I usually draw a large circle around my work so that when I ZOOM EXTENTS I can clearly see the circle.

Then I just erase everything on the screen outside of that circle.

My work is retained and the junk is zapped!
